PM Modi made quite a move when he banned the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000. The consequences were not as expected though. The introduction of Rs. 2000 note seemed to be part of a grand plan and was quite logical. The markets and daily transactions went haywire due to the lack of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes. The conditions became better as they were reintroduced in the year 2017.
Now, what seems like a rumor might be the actual news. RBI has requested banks to limit the use of Rs. 2000 notes, totally banning it. Government wants to decrease the flow of Rs. 2000 notes and RBI has even instructed banks not to dispense Rs. 2000 notes from their ATMs.
Seems like we are soon going to say goodbye to Rs. 2000 note as well. Looks like the whole fuss about demonetisation was all unnecessary in the first place.
